Reflection of Grace is a southern gospel, singing
ministry founded by Jeremiah Collins in 2006. Jeremiah, for several years, felt as if God had placed a burden on him
to start a ministry in southern gospel. He has a very musical ancestry. His great grandfather, Ben Jones, was a shape note
teacher with a degree from Tennessee and his grandfather along with his great aunts and uncles made up the Jones family
quartet from Hendersonville, NC. He felt that with his musical heritage and the talent God had blessed him with that it was
his calling from God to start a southern gospel group. It began with himself and his now wife Jessie Collins. Jeremiah prayed
and sought for what the group should be named and one day God revealed to him as he stood looking into a mirror that
he was a "reflection of God's grace". To truly be a "reflection of God's grace" is their
burning desire and so the name "Reflection of Grace" was given to the group. Together, Jeremiah and Jessie prayed
that God would send them the right member or members to complete their group. Over the next couple of years, God moved
people in and out of the group, which God used to bring us to where our ministry is today. In 2008 Preston Mintz, a cousin
to Jeremiah of the same musical ancestry and a brother in Christ, was invited to join the group and is still with
them today to make up Reflection of Grace.
Reflection of Grace's members are Jeremiah Collins, his wife Jessie Collins and Jeremiah's cousin Preston Mintz. Glenda Collins is the sound technician for the group and though she is not a singer she has a vital role in their ministry by blending the sound and always keeping their volume level at a comfortable level for anyone to enjoy. Together they have a superb sound. Their vocal versatility is a refreshing change from most southern gospel groups, whose members sing the same part on every song. The range each of them has makes it possible for them to constantly switch harmony parts to give them their own unique style and sound. The tight harmony and blend they have is a delight to find among groups today along with the wonderful variety of songs they sing. Combining the old classics such as "Beulah Land", "What a Lovely Name" and other old favorites with newer songs and originals that they have written is truly a blessing. Their goal in choosing songs to sing is to find songs that have a message from Jesus Christ for the people to hear. One can tell that this is not just a hobby for them, this is a ministry and something that they truly love to do. The mission statement alone is a real testament to that fact, "Our goal is to see souls saved, hearts touched and lives changed forever through Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior." The group is dedicated to serving the Lord and going wherever the Lord may lead. Jeremiah and Jessie attend Mtn. View Missionary Baptist Church in Hendersonville, NC, which is where the group is based out of, and Preston attends Crossroads Baptist Church in Zirconia, NC when they are not singing. They have sung at all types of churches and services such as homecomings, revivals, benefits and other events. Their hopes and prayers are to be able to continue singing where God opens doors, to be a blessing to everyone who hears them and spread the good news of Jesus Christ to all. God resisteth the proud but giveth grace to the humble. James 4:6. "Reflection of Grace" is celebrating three years together in our ministry!
